Drishti means gentle, steady gaze. Every posture has a Drishti, a gaze point. The drishti facilitates correct alignment in postures. Maintaining the steadiness of drishti keeps the attention focussed. If the eyes are wondering around from mat to mat it indicates ‘monkey mind.’ Steady Drishti enables meditation in motion through the establishment of one point of concentration.
Mudras seal an attitude and set a certain energetic circuit in the body. The attitudes and postures adopted during mudra practices establish a direct link between annamaya kosha, the physical body; manomaya kosha, the mental body; and pranayama kosha, the pranic body.
